Pastor Rhoda arrived at Mountain View UMC July 1, 2017. She says, "it was like coming home, as I served in the Cobb - Cherokee area early in my ministry." She was ordained in 1997 after receiving a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. She received a B.S. in Psychology from Kennesaw State College (University) in 1994.
Not only does Pastor Rhoda serve this UMC, she serves the greater church as well. At the District level, she serves the Strategic Growth team, where they work with churches within the district to understand their ministry footprint.
At the conference level, she serves with a colleague, leading a first year of ministry group of pastors. She also serves on Church Development.
Rhoda and her husband Eric have been married since December of 1974. Together, they have raised 2 children. Eric works in computers. He loves playing music. They both serve with Walk to Emmaus. And they both love reading and some have said their home looks like a medium size library!
Pastor Rhoda says "I believes in the ability of the local church, whether small or large, to build relationships with others, so the Good News of Jesus Christ can be shared. I believe that believers in the Good News have the power, through the Holy Spirit, to impact the world with the love of God through Jesus."
